Currently Listening to: Steve Winwood

We’re in 2024 now, let’s have some inspiration, some motivation, please. This new year promises us an opening. An opening for opportunities to find us. Opportunities like new relationships, new income opportunities, new perspectives and new growth. The new possibilities are quite literally endless. If the desire or thought crosses your mind, go after it. Why would you think about something and decide it was just a thought? How is anything just a thought? Doesn’t every thought have a reason behind it? Or have I just gone to too much therapy? Is that possible?

I found myself asking existential questions ever since I was a child. Why are we here? More specifically, why are we here right now at this point of existence? It’s not for nothing. You can believe anything you want, but nothing happens by accident. The world doesn’t make any sense that way! Not that it makes a ton of sense now, but I truly believe we will know the answers to these questions in our after life, whatever that may look like. My soul somehow knows there’s something else at play within our existence. Could it be because I have lived before? Could it be that my soul knows things that it can’t articulate to my human brain? Probably. But all of that aside, I’m not here to tell you what to think or believe, I’m here to tell you what music to listen to right now.

What will get you feeling optimistic and opportunistic as we transition into 2024? Let me play you a little song.

“Back in the High Life Again” by Steve Winwood.

There’s a hundred more songs that I’m listening to in this new year that have great new year’s energy, but there’s just something about this all time classic that compelled me to single it out for this post. The doors are opening in this song. Sing it, feel it. Keep moving whatever your pace may be. You’ll be back in the high life again before too long. Objects in motion stay in motion. True fact. People, ideas, motivations. They all stay in motion once they’re in motion. Try not to let your energy get stagnant, and if it does, MOVE. Dance. Put this song on and sing. Let that energy move, whatever way you feel like. Your desires want you. Let them have you. The world wants to see you win. Not society, don’t get them twisted. I’m talking about the universe. The larger force at play, whatever you believe it to be, wants you to win. Let those powers help you. Just keep moving.

Put this song on, find some sunlight to shine upon you, or light a bunch of candles if the sun isn’t out today. Take some deep breaths. Just keep moving. It’s different than forcing yourself to work, that’s also not what I’m saying, but just move. You need some rest? Take a walk, read a book, use your energy. Don’t just rot on the couch. That’s not necessarily restful. Ok, I’m stepping off my soap box, just listen to the damn song.
