For Ukraine

No War in Ukraine

The information below is from this weeks podcast episode of Did You Hear That –

It’s devastating watching the events unfold in Ukraine. I am sharing some ways you can help below, and please keep in mind anything can make a difference. Pool together with your friends and family if you would like, but know that every little bit helps.

Direct Relief:

Direct Relief is one of the world’s largest distributors of donated medical supplies. Over the past six months, it has provided Ukraine with $26 million in medical aid. When you donate to them, there is a drop down menu where you can select you want your money to go to the Ukraine crisis.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Health sent Direct Relief a list of items it needed, such as 500 emergency medical packs. The organization is working to acquire and deliver those supplies. Let’s not forget that people still need medical help even when it’s “not a good time.” Not to mention the thousands of citizens who are being hurt with disgusting war violence.

Airbnb:

Huge fucking shout out to Airbnb. There’s a couple of ways to help Ukrainians through Airbnb. You can actually donate directly through Airbnb and they will help refugees find places to stay in Ukraine, but also in the surrounding countries, at no cost to them.

Maybe you’ve also seen online this movement of renting Airbnbs in Ukraine that people have no intention of staying in. So, they’re just basically sending money to the people who are renting it. Read this article with a box of tissues handy. It’s truly so moving to see people find creative ways to help how they can.

The choice is yours of how and where you want to give. I am just providing you options.

Kyiv Independent:

I’ve been following this account on Twitter – yes, ok I kept my twitter – the Kyiv Independent is now fundraising to continue its coverage of cyberattacks, bombings, and ground invasions from within Ukraine. Journalists with the Kyiv Independent have done tremendous work covering the war, offering the world constant updates as they fear for themselves and their families. The Independent has started a GoFundMe asking for support, but they’ve also promoted a separate GoFundMe — “Keep Ukraine’s media going”. This fundraiser is aimed at helping media relocate and continue their operations from neighboring countries.

They are literally risking their lives to bring us this information. So I feel like it’s really important to give back to them.

No amount is too small. Please give where and when you can.

Here are the Ukrainian songs I highlighted in the episode –
