Taylor Swift: ICON

What can we even say about Taylor Swift that hasn’t been said before?

She’s an icon. A superstar. Her music will live on forever, and I mean forever forever. We all have that special connection to her songs. This is the music we will pass onto our kids and their kids for generations to come. Relatable at every age. Taylor does everything thoroughly and in such a smart manner. If everyone could be half as smart as her, this world would be a better place.

Taylor can always make you get up and dance or sing your heart out, blast her music while making dinner in the kitchen. Not a single soul on this earth can deny that she’s got serious fucking talent. An Artist. AN ICON.

If you haven’t been to a Taylor Swift concert, put her on your to-see list. She goes all out. It is a performance like no other. You will have the time of your life, so go with someone special. Memories forever. You can imagine how her performance might be because her music videos are also all out, and you can see those right at home. Taylor Swift’s music videos are iconic. Clever, beautiful, thrilling, enchanting. She draws you completely in. You are also in the music video now.

Carefully crafted and beautifully captured, she has some true works of art in her catalog. Leave a comment below with what your favorite Taylor Swift music video is, I am so curious to hear. Let me share what mine are.

Some of the BEsT oNes:

Shake It Off: ICONIC. This song topped the Billboard charts for weeks. This song was a HIT. The video is just as fun as the song itself! Taylor dancing all different styles, always being unique and putting her style on it. Never quite fitting in but that’s the fun of it, which she’ll later also tell us that in her song ME! She got some shit for this song and video, but I think it’s an overall classic.

LWYMMD: Taylor’s “comeback”. Not as much, but we hadn’t heard from her for a while, and she came back to us to debut Look What You Made Me Do. She didn’t forget to include many Easter eggs, as she calls them, and you could probably make a movie going over them all. I’m sure you can find that already on YouTube somewhere(oh yeah, here ya go).

22: Another classic. Another fun music video. You’re one of two types of people – people who listened to 22 on their 22nd birthday, and people who turned 22 before the song came out. How old are you?

The Story Of Us: She’s giving us hot, smart girl vibes. Hot library make out music video, ok 16 year old me was loving it. This was a fun Taylor era. Her messy hair was/is goals in this video. Should we all go get it on in a library to achieve this look?

Blank Space: Amazing! ICONIC! She is gorgeous in every scene. Dressed to the nines. Iconic red lip. Short hair era. Riding horses, riding bikes indoors, running in couture gowns, hanging extremely large photos, picnic with just candy and champagne. Taylor acting like a “crazy” girl. Dramatic af Taylor. Mascara tears Taylor. We love it. Regina George’d him lol. SHe fucking went for it! Like call her crazy, you wanna see crazy?? SHE’LL SHOW YOU CRAZY. And look like the most beautiful person in the world the whole time omg! Heart breaker during this era FOR SURE 100.

(I actually didn’t revise this section, these are my initial notes/reaction and I thought they were too funny to revise)

**Honorable Mention

Everything Has Changed: Little kid Ed and Taylor are cute as hell. I lost it a little bit when I got to the end and *spoiler* OMG it’s their kids!! How cute. So fucking heartfelt.

She’s clearly proven she can make a good fucking music video, but there are some songs of hers that I would LOVE a music video for! Some of these songs really get me right in the heart and I would love a visual to these lovely tunes. Do you think these songs deserve a video? Should we start some petitions or what? Let me know in the comments!

Songs that DESERVE videos:

  • Getaway Car
  • All Too Well??? She performed it at the Grammys and it was so unbelievably good maybe she didn’t want to make a video and just left it at that simple statement. A video couldn’t have been better than that live performance.
  • I DID Something Bad
  • Forever & Always – this is a bop. It deserves a video.
  • Never Grow Up to announce that she’s pregnant please
  • Better Than Revenge would be fun
