As you should know by now, Kehlani’s new album, SweeySexySavage, came out January 27, 2017. This album is everything and more and is exactly what 2017 needed. While her vocals are impressive throughout, it’s her songwriting that really stole the spotlight. The album is thoroughly and uniquely Kehlani. Her R&B style is all her own as she lets her talent shine on each song. I, personally, love everything Kehlani stands for. She truly is a badass woman. Looking over her previous work, you can see how much she has grown as an artist and a creator. She continuously works hard to better herself and it really shows in her work. If you haven’t listen to it yet, for the love of all things holy do yourself a favor and listen to it! Let me hit you with the highlights below.

Escape – Kehlani’s voice is just so soothing on this track. I love when artists put real emotion into their work. Kehlani has streamlined her emotions into this smooth R&B track. Not to mention the lyrics. She kills me with the lyrics! Oh what I would give to witness this woman create a song like this.
Get Like – Okay, we can ALL relate to this song. I love how upbeat this song is. Kehlani bops around like how you might feel around your crush or lover and it’s just such a fun and bright song. It makes me want to just drive around and listen to this song with the windows down. That will definitely happen once summer hits.
Piece of Mind – I saw an interview Kehlani did where she said if she could only keep one song off the album, what song would it be, and she chose this one. I must say, I couldn’t agree more. I feel like I can feel Kehlani’s soul through this song, like this is the most Kehlani-style song ever made. The lyrics will inspire you to take a breather and not be so hard on yourself. You are awesome and you need to stop and take a minute to appreciate that more often.
